Emmett is a talented and highly skilled Vocal Coach. If you are a singer looking to take your voice to new levels, improve performance skills, or hone your craft, there is no one else I would recommend. His years of experience and innate understanding of the mechanics of singing helped me undo years of bad vocal habits and take my voice to new levels. He even helped me recover from damage that was done to my vocal cords due to poor instruction from a previous coach who was not teaching proper technique. Emmett is a joy to work with! Emmett is so talented! He truly cares about helping his students improve and you can really tell in your lessons. I have worked with him for years, even before he opened this studio. During lessons with him you can hear the difference it makes. While some coaches will only focus on the bigger aspects of each song, he will get down to the nitty-gritty parts that can make a huge difference in the way the song sounds in your voice. I have always felt incredibly loved and supported by Emmett while also feeling happy about the constructive criticism. It's important in a coach to feel loved and supported but it's also crucial to feel your voice improving which I do with him every time. I can not recommend him enough. He's an amazing coach.

As a singer, who due to health issues had to stop performing years ago and was so nervous about trying to start again, Emmett has been so wonderful to work with!
I researched a lot of local studios and had my trial lesson with Emmett first, but by the end of our lesson, I canceled the rest of my trial lessons.
He not only knows what he’s doing as a teacher and a professional, but he is supportive, kind, funny and nonjudgmental. Since I’ve started lessons, I’m done a couple local productions and though I continue to be a work in progress (who isn’t?), I’m confident he continues to be a great fit!

Mr. Emmett is the best!!!! He is very professional, well educated, and a spectacular instructor! In doing my research, I felt that this was the right place that I chose, but wowsers!…he has surpassed all of my expectations and then some!
I haven’t been working with Mr. Emmett for that long, and already he has given me the tools needed to work on my artistry, and to excel me towards my goals of improving in my music journey. In this short time of knowing him, it already feels like he’s family! Mr. Emmett is so down to earth, so chill, extremely funny, and just an all around joyful person to be around!
Also, he truly believes in us all, wants the best for every single student of his, and is dedicated to instruct and guide us to become better artists. Mr. Emmett not only teaches us vocal exercises, he works hard to search for opportunities for us to perform in front of an audience at various venues! That is some real life guidance and training for us musically. It helps us to continue to build our confidence and grow.
We also have group performances where we meet together, work on our confidence, and practice cover songs of our choice or perform our own original songs! Performing in front of a small audience of just a group of us is really important I believe, because it prepares us to perform in front of bigger audiences. Even if some of us have performed in front of audiences, it’s just an all-around great thing for continued practice.

After a few consultations with other vocal teachers, I put off singing lessons for over a year because every place I went to felt a bit uncomfortable (and pushy?). When I finally decided to try again,
I found Emmett and I’m so glad I did. From Day 1, before we even started singing, it was clear he wanted to fully understand what I was looking for, what I wanted my voice to sound like, and why I came to him in the first place. He isn’t just there to teach everyone the same basics of singing over and over. Personally, I’ve never cared much about singing opera or having a really loud and belty voice—I want to sing the songs I enjoy listening to—so we didn’t focus on that. We worked on the small things that I could never seem to figure out on my own that were making my voice hard to control and feel confident about.
Almost immediately I started sounding better, and more importantly, I’m able to go home and practice as much as I want now that I know what I’m doing wrong and how to identify it so I can actually work on fixing it. And if you do want to sing loud and clear and hit high notes, Emmett absolutely knows how to teach that as well, which I know because I’ve heard his other students sing, and they sound amazing. Of course, he does too. But, while he’s incredible at teaching, I really feel like it’s important to have a teacher who you connect with and feel safe around (singing can feel very vulnerable!) and I think that’s what really makes Emmett special.
I look forward to every lesson not just because I really want to improve, but also because he’s just fun to be around, and the other students I see in passing are too. It really is the best place around if you want to learn how to sing !

I first discovered Emmett Hayes Voice Studio (EHVS) through an advertisement after joining the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, which I am proud to support. From the start, I was impressed by the professionalism and thoughtfulness that went into the design of the studio. The space is both smartly designed and incredibly comfortable, creating a “safe” environment for new vocalists, which was important to me as a beginner.
When I started vocal lessons, I had no experience or skills—just the belief, stemming from childhood, that I couldn’t sing.
