Certified Vocal Coach

Anna Majic is a Certified Vocal Coach at Emmett Hayes Voice Studio whose teaching is rooted in personal experience, technical knowledge, and a deep commitment to vocal health. After developing vocal nodules from years of oversinging and strain, Anna began training with Master Vocal Coach Emmett Hayes, where she learned how proper technique prevents vocal damage and creates strength, freedom, and stamina in the voice. She completed two years of intensive coaching and over 50 hours of direct observation, methodology study, and pedagogy training with Emmett to fully understand his technique, approach, and teaching philosophy.

Originally from Redding, CA and raised in a musical family of ten (fun fact: her uncle was the late David Lindley, longtime touring musician and collaborator with Jackson Browne), Anna has been surrounded by music her entire life. She began with violin in 1999, received private instruction, performed with the Shasta Symphony, and eventually taught beginning violin students before shifting her focus to voice in 2006.

Anna is classically trained in opera, jazz, and musical theatre, has performed with North Star Opera and Modesto Opera, and has extensive choir experience. She previously served as a choral director for Schola at St. Joseph’s Church and was a solo cantor for St. John’s Lutheran Church. She holds an AA Degree in Music, pursued a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance, and earned a BS in Communications. She is also highly trained in music theory and can teach students how to read sheet music confidently and accurately.

Today, Anna teaches at Emmett Hayes Voice Studio and works primarily with brand-new singers, beginners, kids, and teens. She is patient, encouraging, and passionate about helping singers build healthy technique, avoid the pitfalls that lead to vocal strain, and feel confident in their voice.
